Join us for "Biophilia: A Celebration of Human Connection to Nature”. A month-long exhibition showcasing the incredible talent of local artists from Cabbagetown. This immersive event aims to deepen our understanding of the profound bond between humans and nature through various art forms and interactive experiences.

Highlights + Program Schedules

  • Paintings by Elham Hazfi: Hazfi's vibrant and colorful paintings serve as a bridge between humanity and the natural world, inviting viewers to explore the beauty and wonder of nature through her captivating artwork.

  • Thursday, Feb 29th, 7pm: Traditional Iranian music performance by Farzad Hariri and Bamdad Maleki. They will provide a melodic backdrop to the visual feast, transporting attendees to distant lands through the power of music.

  • Saturday, March 2nd, 2pm to 3pm: Join Photographer Lawrence Bernstein for an artist talk and a walk through Cabbagetown, where he'll share fascinating stories behind the treasures he's collected from his travels, such as sand and rocks. Bring your camera and learn valuable tips and techniques for capturing the beauty of our neighborhood.

  • Saturday, March 9th, 6pm - 7pm: Immerse yourself in the transformative benefits of a Sound Bath led by artist Kevin Charlie, and embark on a journey of self-care and holistic well-being as ethereal sounds wash over you, rejuvenating your spirit. *Bring a yoga mat.

  • Saturday, March 16th, 1pm to 2pm: Celebrate Ontario's seasonal bounty with recipes from "Peak Season,” a cookbook by Toronto-based author Deirdre Buryk. Discover the art of effortlessly preparing meals using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

  • Saturday, March 23rd, 1pm - 2pm: Join Elham Hazfi for an artist studio tour to get behind the scenes + a special workshop where you'll learn how to make drinks and snacks with rhubarb, adding an extra layer of cultural richness to your exploration of Hazfi's artwork.

Biophilia is more than just an art event; it's a celebration of the interconnectedness of all living things and a testament to the power of art to inspire, educate, and unite people from all walks of life.
