We offer curbside pick ups Tuesday through Saturdays 11am to 6pm.

Gemstone Properties

Amethyst

Amethyst is a stone of spirituality and contentment known to facilitate complete metamorphosis. Amethyst assists with providing stability and detracting negative energy, as well as providing a sense of calmness and tranquility. It is said to have been one of the stones used in the breast plate of the high priest.

Green Turquoise

Both Native Americans and Tibetan shamans believe turquoise to be a protective stone and a master healer. It is meant to act as a grounder, assisting its wearer through life's unknowns. It facilitates communication, especially during emotional issues and promotes an overall appreciation of love and strength during times of growth or transition.

Sunstone

Historically, sunstone was used by Canadian First Nations in medicinal rituals. It was believed to connect spirit guides to the healing light of the sun. In Ancient Greece, sunstone was believed to represent the Sun God, bringing life and abundance to those who carried or wore it. In ancient India, it was used to provide protection from the destructive forces of other realms. Today it is used to clear and energize the chakras, alleviate stress, and cleanse negative energy.

ABOUT HAILEY GERRITS

When Hailey Gerrits began her jewellery practice in 2010, it wasn’t long before she could be found digging through bins of antique and vintage brasses, patiently searching for the perfect piece. It was the histories of aged metals and the uniqueness of hand cut gemstones that captured her imagination. With each piece she produced she tried to capture that unobtainable quality of spirit found in the unique and unknown stories of these materials. In aged brass and bold design, she finds the ability to bring classic style with modern sensibility to her customers.

Hailey Gerrits Designs has come to encapsulate an understated glamour and sophistication. Not only is each piece handmade, but construction with unique gems and aged metals imbues each piece with an image of the past and all of its romance—fully embodying the notion of ‘one of a kind’. Her pieces are functional and build up a personality in everyday wear.

Her collections are handmade in small batches in her studio in Vancouver, BC, and all materials are ethically sourced. This culminates in the creation of collections which respect the people and planet alike; a celebration of beauty that doesn’t sacrifice sustainability or style.
