Sweet & Smoky Prosciutto Twists
You’ve been warned: This flaky pastry and prosciutto party-starter is so tasty that your guests won’t be able to get enough of them — better make an extra batch! A dash of Sweet & Smoky Rub takes these over the edge, giving every bite of this canapé some beautifully balanced flavour.
1 sheet of refrigerated puff pastry dough
½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
12 thin slices of prosciutto
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tbsp Sweet & Smoky Rub
Lay the sheet of puff pastry on a piece of parchment paper or a clean cutting board and roll into a rectangle.
Spread cheese in an even layer across the dough, and then press the cheese into the dough with your hands. Fold the pastry dough in half and press or roll to flatten. Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, slice into 12 strips.
Twist each strip with a piece of prosciutto, place on a parchment lined cookie sheet or a greased air fryer basket. Brush with egg. Repeat with remaining strips.
Finish by generously sprinkling the twists with Kanel Sweet + Smoky Rub. Bake or air fry at 400 F for about 20 minutes or until golden. Remove immediately and allow to cool slightly on a baking rack before serving.
