Sarah in her own words

I’m Sarah Vermunt, Careergasm Founder and the author of Careergasm: Find Your Way To Feel Good Work. I created Careergasm to help people pursue work that thrills and delights.

I also serve up BS-free career advice for readers at Forbes, Inc., Entrepreneur, Fortune, and lots of other cool places. Nobody is more surprised by this than me. I swear a lot, wear glitter nail polish, and refuse to drink the corporate Kool-Aid.

I help people figure out what the hell they want so they can quit jobs they hate and do work they love. And you know how that all started?

I had a breakdown in the middle of a crowded Starbucks. Yup. Sexy.

I was working as a professor at a business school, and was hunched over my laptop at Starbucks, working on some research. I HATED conducting research. One day I just couldn’t do it anymore. Not for another second. I had a big, fat, embarrassing meltdown right in the middle of Starbucks. The kicker? I was teaching and researching workplace happiness. #irony

I gave notice the next day. A career as a professor was not for me. Since then I’ve devoted my life to helping people quit jobs they hate, to getting the hell out of Dodge when they just can’t take it anymore, and to helping people choose careers they can fall crazy drunk in love with.

I’d like to help you get unstuck and figure some stuff out. Working with me is like a warm hug and a kick in the ass.
