Warm up your winter with elegantly presented Indian vegetarian delights, featuring both modern and traditional Indian dishes from Arvinda and Preena Chauhan’s debut cookbook, New Indian Basics. In this demo and tasting, learn essential and basic Indian cooking techniques with cookbook author Preena Chauhan, discovering how to perfectly spice-infuse a delicious vegetarian menu that you will return to again and again. Honouring Arvinda’s family culinary traditions, this menu also includes a demo on the authentic preparation of Masala Chai, India’s beloved tea ritual of black tea infused with a heavenly-spiced blend of cardamon, cinnamon, cloves and ginger.

Our tasting menu includes:

  • Pav Bhaji, a traditional Mumbai street food of Garam Masala spiced vegetable curry served with a buttery toasted bun
  • Pantry Channa Masala, a chickpea curry served on a bed of garlicky spaghetti squash
  • Caramelized Chai Spiced Bananas
  • Ginger Spiced Masala Chai
