To celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, Labour of Love and AACT are teaming up to host a Lunar New Year Dumpling-making event! Learn to make dumplings (vegan option available), participate in artistic and cultural activities, view a special pop-up art exhibition. Savour an evening of cultural exchange and meet new friends while enjoying delicious food!
During this event, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to make their own dumplings using a variety of fillings, such as meat and vegetables (vegan, halal and kosher options available). Our expect dumpling-maker will provide tips and tricks on the dumpling-making process.
Other traditions include manifesting good wishes for the coming year through artistic activities that will become part of a community wish tree. Get creative and try your hand at calligraphy, traditional brush painting and crafting auspicious paper-cut bunnies. There will also be a special art exhibition featuring a small group of Asian Canadian artists from Toronto.
