Work­shops at Labour of Love

I met Ellen Mur­phy last sum­mer when she was brows­ing through Cab­bage­town on a trip from Hal­i­fax. She has recently moved to the Big City to grow her busi­ness and to look for new oppor­tu­ni­ties. Ellen is the cre­ator behind Mule Mother Books, an inde­pen­dent book com­pany that pro­duces one-of-a-kind blank books with char­ac­ter, wit and style.  She’s inter­ested in using recycled/reclaimed mate­ri­als to make hand-stitched and hand-bound jour­nals, diaries and photo albums. Her lat­est cre­ation is a minia­ture, blank jour­nal made with reclaimed fab­ric and recy­cled paper.

Well, these got me really excited because I love any­thing minia­ture! Ellen will be host­ing a work­shop on Wednes­day, May 2nd at Labour of Love to show us how to make these ele­gant lit­tle book­lets! Could be a nice thing to do for Mother’s Day!
